What makes a call qualified?
A qualified call is defined by the buyer's own sales or intake process. The campaign brief lists what must be true for the buyer to want the call. Typical rules fall into a few groups.
- Duration: the call stays connected past the billable duration
- Location: the caller is in an approved state, county, city or ZIP
- Intent: the caller needs the service now, not information only
- Eligibility: age, homeownership, coverage status, representation status or business revenue, depending on the vertical
- Uniqueness: the caller hasn't called within the duplicate window
- Timing: the call arrives during the buyer's open hours
Examples by vertical
The same idea looks different in each industry. These are common starting points, not fixed standards.
| Vertical | Common qualification rules |
|---|---|
| Home services | Homeowner, inside service ZIPs, specific repair or install need |
| Insurance | Licensed state, age range for the product, interest in a quote |
| Legal | Qualifying incident, incident date in range, no current attorney |
| Business funding | Business owner, minimum monthly revenue, time in business |
How are disputes handled?
Good agreements say what counts as a valid return, how long the buyer has to raise it and what evidence is reviewed, usually the call recording and routing data. Clear definitions up front prevent most disputes.
